Abu Salamah six hadiths: from A’isha: One hadith
[20] From Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abu Salamah Ibn Abd ar-Rahman that A’isha, the wife of the Prophet (Sallalahu Alayhi Was-Sallam) said, “The Messenger of Allah (Sallalahu Alayhi Was-Sallam) was asked about mead (alcohol made from honey or honey wine), and he replied, ‘Every drink which intoxicates is haram.’ ”

[UNDERSTANDING FROM THE HADITH]
1) This hadith is mutawatir, that every intoxicating alcohol is prohibited. See Qatful Azhaar al-Mutanathir Fil Akhbaar al-Mutawatir of al-Suyuti (no.85) and Laqatul al-Lalee al-Mutanathir Fil Hadeeth al-Mutawaatir of az-Zubaydi (no.40) and Nazmul Mutanathir Min al-Hadeeth al-Mutawaatir of al-Kittani (no.165) and Dhamul Muskar of Imam Ibn Abi Dunya al-Baghdadi.
2) Umar (RadhiAllaahu Anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Sallalahu Alayhi Was-Sallam) said: “Every muskar (thing that intoxicates you) is khamr and every muskar is prohibited”. (Sahih Muslim: (no.2003)
Jaabir Ibn Abdullah (RadhiAllaahu Anhu) narrated that Messenger of Allah (Sallalahu Alayhi Was-Sallam said, “Whatever intoxicates you (by using it) a lot or a little is (also) prohibited.” (Sunan at-Tirmidhi: (no.1865), and its chain is [Hasan] good, and Tirmidhi said: “Hasan Gharib” and Ibn Jarud authenticated it: (no.860)
3) Some people say that, “The alcohol of wheat, barley (oats), honey, maize (corn) is halal and there is no punishment on the person who drinks it, even if he is intoxicated” (Al-Hidayah of al-Marginani (4/496) book of drinking). This saying is rejected because it goes against the authentic hadith. [Note: a severe and reprimand of a grave opinion of the hanafi madhab-no doubt the blind muqallids on multaqa will have some sort of self concocted answer]
4) Abu Musa al-Ash’ari (RadhiAllaahu Anhu) said: “I do not see any difference between drinking Khamr (drugs and alcohol) and worshiping this column instead of Allah the Mighty and Sublime.” (Sunan an-Nasa’i (8/314) hadith (no.5666) and its chain is authentic) Meaning that the sin of drinking alcohol is like the sin of doing shirk. We seek refuge from Allah from it.
