Where to look in prayer

عن ابن سيرين قال: كانوا ‌يستحبون ‌أن ‌ينظر ‌الرجل في صلاته إلى موضع سجوده
[تعظيم قدر الصلاة (١٤٥) وسنده صحيح]

Ibn Sirin (Tābi’ī) said:
They (salaf) would recommend that a person looks during his Salah towards the place of Sujūd. [Ta’ẓīm Qadr al-Ṣalāh 145; Isnād Ṣaḥīḥ]

عن أبي قلابة قال: سألت مسلم بن يسار: أين منتهى البصر في الصلاة؟ فقال: إن حيث تسجد حسن
[ابن أبي شيبة (٢/٢٦٠) وسنده صحيح]

Abu Qilābah (Tābi’ī) said:
I asked Muslim ibn Yasār (Tābi’ī) “Where is the point of sight during Salah?” He said: “If it is where you do sujūd (then) good.” [Muṣannaf Ibn Abī Shaybah 2/260; Isnād Ṣaḥīḥ]

عن إبراهيم النخعي أنه كان يحب للمصلي أن لا يجاوز بصره موضع سجوده
[ابن أبي شيبة (٢/٢٦١) وسنده صحيح]

Ibrahim al-Nakha’i (Tabi’i) used to like that the person prays without moving his sight from the place of Sujūd. [Muṣannaf Ibn Abī Shaybah 2/261; Isnād Ṣaḥīḥ]

As for the reports attributed to the prophet ﷺ, shaykh Muḥammad bin Ḥizām al-Ba’dānī حفظه الله said all are weak [Fatḥ al-‘Allām 2/307]
